Companies across the South East Midlands can showcase the manufacturing strengths of the region with an awards scheme championing growth and innovation.
The annual Made In East and Central England awards will take place at The Barns Hotel in Bedford on June 1 and companies in Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Aylesbury Vale and Cherwell have been invited to enter.
The awards, sponsored by the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP), form part of a wider national programme, with the winners going forward to represent the region in the national finals held in Liverpool later in the year.
There are eight awards up for grabs, with several categories falling perfectly into the sectors which play to the real manufacturing strengths of some of the South East Midlands sharpest and brightest business brains.
Aerospace and defence companies will be vying for the title of the firm which is deemed to have had the biggest impact on the region in terms of jobs, growth or exports.
Other categories are aimed at the food and drink sector, technology companies, exporters and training providers, while there is a separate award for innovation.
The two main awards on the night will crown the two Manufacturing Companies of the Year with turnovers of both under and over £20million.
Companies can enter the awards by visiting http://www.insidermedia.com/event/made-in-east-and-central-england/nominations/ and downloading the simple application form. The deadline for entries is Tuesday, May 5.
