UTAC at Millbrook provides 70km of varied test track and the site has a range of test facilities for components and full vehicles. Millbrook Technology Park in the UK is home to several automotive and engineering companies. It presents companies with the opportunity to base themselves at a leading research and development site that is an integral part of the automotive industry. The company provides vehicle test and validation services and systems to customers in the automotive, transport, tyre, petrochemical and defence industries. The company has also recently invested in new facilities to support customers to develop electric and battery powered vehicles, but electrical energy supply is poor and is not adequate to support ambitions for future investment at the site.

Further expansion of the site will be constrained by utilities capacity within the local area and this project will upgrade the power supply to Millbrook to allow for an expansion of onsite employment activity.

The project is expected to contribute to the development of vehicles that will reduce transport emissions, reduce greenhouse gases and improve the safety of vehicles which in turn will reduce the number of deaths due to air pollution issues or road traffic accidents.
