JRM Limited Group are extending and remodelling one of their existing sites in Daventry, Northamptonshire, to create a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Low-carbon Automotive Technologies (manufacturing and automotive). The project will involve the build of two test rigs suitable for use by OEMs in the design of new electric and lightweight vehicles, which are themselves carbon neutral during testing, and provide the company infrastructure to acquire machining and additive manufacture (3D printing) equipment. The CoE will also create additional commercial incubation space for small and large businesses and be fitted with solar panels to provide between 75% and 100% of the energy needs for the site.

Rachel Mallows CBE visited JRM on the 16th May to view the final phases of work that have been completed on the JRM Centre of Excellence. The building works are now finished and internally the new fabrication facility and vehicle bodyshop have been fitted out. The JRM simulator has also been commissioned and ready for receiving the first customers.
