Cranfield School of Management are reaching out to companies to ask whether they might consider sponsoring one of our MSc in Management students for a three-month paid in-company internship from June to August each year.
The importance of industry experience cannot be underestimated, and so we’re asking businesses to work with us to support the next generation of managers and business leaders. As the employer, you will benefit from a low-cost, high-value addition to your team. Because we’re a postgraduate-only university with demanding entry criteria, our students are mature and motivated. Most are 25 or older, and over three quarters of them come to Cranfield to study their master’s having already gained a number of years’ work experience.
We believe very strongly in preparing students for demanding managerial roles by focussing on making connections between theory and practice. But to do that we rely on help from businesses just like yours. Last year, companies including Briteyellow Ltd, Contact Engine Ltd, Marks and Spencer, Orange Business Services, Skanska and Whirlpool UK all offered our students internships. In previous years, a number of host companies have extended a full-time, permanent job offer to their intern at the end of the three months.
Internships can be totally customised in order to fit your current business needs or projects and during the three months students will also undertake a practical thesis that can be tailored to the host company’s goals.
We ask that students are paid living expenses of £1,300 +VAT monthly per student outside M25 and £1,500 +VAT monthly per student within the M25.
For companies that do sponsor an intern, a member of Cranfield School of Management faculty will be on-hand to give advice and guidance to help solve the business problem that the student is assigned to work on.
If you think you could help to support one of our students at this early stage of their managerial career, either this year or in subsequent years, please get in touch for an informal, no-obligation chat. You can reach me on email at sharron.jenkins@cranfield.ac.uk or by phone on 01234 754361.
